About Me

Hi, I'm Perita and I absolutely love 1940s & 50s fashion. I love creating vintage inspired fashion and accessories.  I really wanted a Wonderwoman hair tie but never could find a design I like and wanted to make my own.

My partner bought me a sewing machine for my 40th birthday.  This was my first sewing machine, even though I've been sewing since I was 8 years old! I took to it like a duck to water, but there was also an added bonus.

A few years ago, I partially lost my hearing and developed tinnitus, which is constant and extremely annoying.  I found that the noise of the sewing machine helps me to forget about my tinnitus, it's very therapeutic.

I spend as much time on it as I'm able, which has lead to me creating a lot of hair ties, bunting and other items.  So Pinup Perita was born.
